Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim across a range of genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson lived within New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also the owner of a production company. Hunter and her twin brother and She were all the smallest of a family of four. She developed an interest in acting from a very young age auditioning for commercials by age seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan for further training in her craft. Her debut came as an actor in the film North (1994) aged nine. At eight, she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson subsequently appeared as a character in Just Cause (1995) but her breakthrough was Manny & Lo (1996) which was a film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000) the film in which she played a teenager with a deformity because of an accident earned her critical acclaim. After that, in Ghost World 2001 (as the young, sarcastic teenager Rebecca) Johansson was awarded even more recognition. Renee Felice Smith was a teenager when she first began her professional career as an entertainer. At the age of a young girl, she was attracted to performing. Smith's parents helped her with landing her first acting role at age six. She was a part of a television commercial for Dannon yogurt. Like many other actresses starting out, she chose to refine her craft in the world of theatre. Her work included various USA productions, while also performing on stage with Wildflower. Her education was at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
