Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born March 17 1998) also known as Grimes is an Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, as well as a record producer. [2][3] Early work is classified as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4and influenced by hip-hop, electronic, and rock. She frequently incorporates science fiction and feminist themes in her songs. There have been five albums. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later moving in Montreal), Grimes began publishing music in the late 2000s she released two albums: Geidi Primes and Halfaxa which were released in 2010, on Arbutus Records. After contracting with 4AD, she rose in the charts by releasing Visions, her third studio album. Visions contains the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was winner of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise from the press and critics, while many journals voted it as the best album of the year. [6] Her fifth studio album Miss Anthropocene, was launched in the year 2020. Grimes has also been an actor as well as a judge for Alter Ego's competitions for music, performed as a vocalist as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020.
